PSALM 147: "Sing with Praise"

He fills the fields with wheat
And water to flow.
Preparees the rain to fall
And grass to grow.

Sing with thanksgiving!
Sing with praise!
For great is the Lord
And greatly to be praised.

He counts the shining stars
Each one name He knows.
Casts out the enemy
His greatness shows.

Sing with thanksgiving!
Sing with praise!
For great is the Lord
And greatly to be praised.

He heals the broken heart
Each wound heals and binds.
Makes the outcasts a home,
His peace one finds.

Sing with thanksgiving!
Sing with praise!
For great is the Lord
And greatly to be praised.

"Sing with Praise" plays with a major and minor chord progression. An "A" minor chord is used as a tonal anchor to which the melody and harmony flow. This pattern leads into the main charge, the chorus, to which the text says to "sing with praise". The use of the pivotal chord shows the negativity of each verse- the rain, the enemy, and the outcasts. Through each of these "negative" thoughts comes beautiful praise- the rain grows the grass, the enemy casts away in protection, and the outcasts are given a home.
