From the Dust begins with a paradox musically, the text written speaks of the earth and ground while the piano floats above the melody. The chorus drifts away from the "Unreachable Divine" to the reaching out of the Divine- as a Potter, who molds clay.
The word painting used to express the text is shown through the rhythmic patterns, timbre, and register of the instrumentation.
The climatic element throughout is shown in the drums, as the percussion builds in texture, harmony, and technique, reaching to when the vocalist sings: "I will rise."
